EDUCATE Denver Hosts Mayoral Candidates in Run-off Forum

On May 2, 2023 EDUCATE Denver hosted a mayoral forum for candidates Kelly Brough and Mike Johnston. The forum was co-moderated by media partners Chalkbeat Colorado and CBS Colorado. The discussion focused on public education in Denver. Candidates were asked about the city’s role in providing a high-quality education to Denver students, student safety, opportunities for higher education and career pathways, and how they would use the mayor’s office to advance education-related priorities. They also discussed issues that intersect with education, including affordable housing, mental health support for Denver residents, community violence and crime, and the local economy.
